Managing media items requires the **Engagement Admin** role
{% endhint %}

The Media Library tool enables users to upload and organize media files (images and videos) that Portals, Kiosks, Tickets, Printed Tickets, Playlists, and Digital Signs can use.

The media library presents two libraries:

* **Cubu Universal Library:** This library contains default media items provided by Cubu. You can use items from this library, but you can't change the files in this library.
* **Organization Media Library:** This library contains customer files for your organization.

## Managing Folders

Media files are organized into folders.

### Creating a Folder

* Click **New Folder** from the universal library's context menu.
* Enter a unique name for the new folder.
* Click **Create**.

### Renaming a Folder

* Click **Rename** on the folder's context menu.
* Edit the folder name.
* Click **Rename**.

### Deleting a Folder

* Click **Delete Folder** from the folder's context menu.
* Click **Delete** to confirm.

## Managing Media Files

### Uploading Media Items

To upload a media file, drag the file from your local file browser into the folder's drop area. Alternatively, click on the drop area to browse for a file.

After a file is uploaded to the server, it requires additional processing (i.e., generating thumbnails and preparing videos for streaming). Depending on the file size, this can take a few seconds to a few minutes. A media file cannot be used until its processing is completed.

### Renaming a File

* Click **Rename** from the files's context menu.
* Edit the file name.
* Click **Rename**.

### Deleting a File

* Click **Delete** from the files's context menu.
* Click **Delete** to confirm.
