# Routes

Move cases between inboxes to implement business flows.

Cases may need to be handled by multiple users before they can be resolved. 

A **route** defines a path between a **source** inbox and a **destination** inbox. 

Agents can transfer cases between inboxes only if a route is defined between them. 

Cases are typically added to the end of a target inbox's queue when moved, but this can be modified by adjusting the route settings.
