# Unit Access Permissions

Understanding unit access permissions

Agents use the Agent Console and Calendar tools to process cases in inboxes and calendars.

These tools provide access to inboxes and calendars in the agent's **current unit**. To choose a current unit, the agent must be a **member** of that unit.

A user may be a member of multiple units.
