⚒️Groups

Admin Tools -> Settings -> Groups

Access to this page requires the Organization Admin role.

Access to various tools and resources within the organization requires specific permissions.

These permissions are granted by assigning users one of Cubu's predefined roles.

To streamline permission management, roles are not directly assigned to individual users. Instead, you create groups, assign roles to these groups, and then add users as members.

Users inherit the roles of all the groups they belong to.

When the organization is created, several default groups are created automatically. The Groups tool allows administrators to edit existing groups and create new groups.

Creating a New Group

To create a new group:

  • Click the New Group button to open the New Group dialog.

  • Enter a unique group name.

  • Click Create.

Editing a Group

To edit a group, click on the group from the group list.

General Tab

The General tab allows you to update the group name and describe it.

Roles Tab

In this tab, select the roles assigned to the group.

Members Tab

In this tab, you can manage the group members.

To add a user to the group, type the user name or email in the Add Users dropdown field. Note that you can only add organization members.

To remove a user from the group, click on the Remove () button next to the user.

Default Permissions Tab

This tab enables you to set up a group that will be granted access to newly created inboxes and services.

It comes in handy when you have a group that always requires access to inboxes and services.

Enabling the "Grant inbox access" option will automatically provide the group with access to any new inbox. Similarly, enabling the "Grant service access" option will automatically grant the group access to any new service.

Deactivating a Group

If you wish to temporarily revoke permissions from group members you can deactivate the group.

Deactivating a group has the same effect of deleting the group. The group member will no longer be assigned the group roles.

To deactivate a group, click on the menu button (⋮) and click Deactivate Group.

To re-activate the group, click on the menu button (⋮) and click Activate Group.

Deleting a Group

To permanently delete a group, click on the menu button (⋮) and click Delete Group.
