Digital Signage -> Playlist Manager
Managing playlists requires the Engagement Admin role.
A playlist is a collection of videos and images that are played in a continuous loop on a digital screen. When you create a digital sign, you can select the desired playlist to be displayed for customers waiting in a queue. Typically, these playlists feature a variety of content, including marketing messages aimed at engaging viewers and informative visuals designed to inform them effectively.
Using a Playlist
To use a playlist on a digital sign:
Open the Signage Manager tool and select a digital sign.
Go to the Settings tab.
Select the desired playlist from the Playlist dropdown.
Playlists are played in the Media frame of the digital sign screen layout. Ensure the digital sign layout contains a media frame to play a media playlist.
Creating a Playlist
To create a new playlist:
Click New Playlist to open the New Playlist dialog.
Enter a descriptive name for the playlist.
Click Create.
Playlist Settings
A playlist consists of media items. Select a playlist and go to the Items tab to manage the playlist items.
Here, you can add, remove, and control the order of the playlist media items.
Adding Images
To add an image to the playlist, click Add Item to open the Media Picker dialog. Choose an image and click Select to add it to the list.
Image Play Duration
When you add an image to the playlist, it is displayed for 10 seconds by default. To change the duration, click the Edit option from the media item's context menu to switch to edit mode.
Adding Videos
To add a video to the playlist, click Add Item to open the Media Picker dialog. Choose a video and click Select to add it to the list.
When you upload a video file to the media library, it requires processing on the server. This may take a few seconds to a few minutes. You can add a video to the playlist after the processing is complete.
When you add a video to the list, its play duration is taken automatically from the video.
Muting a Video
If you use a web browser on a PC as your digital sign, you must click the video element on the digital sign on first use to enable sound. This is due to modern browser restrictions. Using the Cubu TV Android app does not require this manual intervention.
Skipping an Item
Changing Items Order
To change how items are played, use the drag handle to drag an item to another position or use the Move Up/ Move Down options from the context menu.
